Saddest woman alive!!!
A sprite of Parîsa for a visual novel I'm working on called Sour Candy.
We're working with square, straight, uninteresting silhouettes for this one. Parîsa likes to play it safe. All markers of femininity can be taken off, as she isn't out at her workplace. Her work has encroached so much on her life that she refuses to do anything detectable or permanent to herself. There's no proof that she would be poorly-received at work, (although she lives in England, so take that with a grain of salt). She's just afraid of how she may be received. Of someone, somewhere, disapproving of her. This is the reasoning, among others, behind her conservative dress style. Other reasons include covering her own body as well as the fashions in the city she grew up in, Tehran. Particularly the street fashion--there's these square-silhouetted jackets everywhere that are really distinctive. There's also a distinctly wealthy vibe to her clothing. A lot of her clothing is custom, as buying anything fast-fashion makes her feel bad. Her personal style is what I would describe as "dandy masc" or perhaps "corporate masc."
Normal amount of perversion voice I want to mist her like the vegetables at the grocery store
A sprite of Theo for a visual novel I'm working on called Sour Candy.
Working out my terror around not-entirely-clean lines. Didn't eliminate it, but we're getting there. I like a grittier line quality, and I think it went well with what I'm trying to convey. Sour Candy is sour-sweet. I wouldn't consider it dark, but it deals with darker subjects. Each of the three LIs is unloveable and loveable in their own way, for reasons some would consider "dark." Theo's reason I tried to convey through her design. She's not wearing a single article of clothing or accessory correctly. The earrings are mismatched, the blue eyeshadow tacky, the jacket off her shoulders, the corset unlaced, the belt halfway off, her phone shattered, her tights too tight. She is testing the seams of femininity and poking through to parody. This is her right and her aim. Perfect femininity doesn't suit her, though she has tried. So she has stopped trying, and often dresses in an over-the-top way both because she likes it and to draw attention to her own difference. She is not one to squat below grass level and hope the tiger doesn't notice her. I often think of poisonous coloring in prey animals with her. She is tacky, she knows, she likes it that way. Approach at your peril.
"How old does he look?" "42" - my mom
He looks older than his age by design, but not THAT old. The serwin coming off and him smiling makes him look like a boy again.
